Family and parent education
The time-honored tradition of midwifery is practiced with professionalism
and caring at Long Island College Hospital. Our Certified Nurse Midwives
(CNMs) manage low-risk, low-intervention deliveries with hands-on, personalized,
and culturally-sensitive care throughout the pregnancy and birth. Their
combined experience totals assistance at more than 3,000 births.
Certified Nurse Midwives are licensed health care practitioners who are
educated both in nursing and midwifery. They provide a full spectrum of
care to women. Including, prenatal care, labor and delivery, care after
birth, gynecological exams, family planning assistance, menopausal management,
and counseling in wellness and disease prevention.
